Conditions of Drug Purchase for Recently 10 years in Chungnam National University Hospital

Abstract

|
To develop procedures used in purchasing and inventory control of drugs in Chungnam National University Hospital, a pricing structure for pharmaceutical products and services based on management was evaluated using data accumulated for one decade, from 1987 through 1987. And the results are as follows. 1) The purchase of anticancer agents was increased, but antibiotics and nutritional solutions were decreased. And items which were limited to one or two items in the past have been dispersed. 2) The total hospital income was increased in proportion to the increase of drug purchasing. 3) The increasing rate of medication cost per each patient was considerably exceeded the increasing rate of total patients. This phenomenon may be related with using high cost medicine and long term therapy to medical insurance patients.
